The Oracle Institute has a vision of helping to build a sustainable spiritual community along the New River in a small town called Independence,Virginia. The New River Valley region of the Appalachian Mountains stretches 320 miles: starting in North Carolina, passing through Virginia, and culminating in West Virginia, where the New River meets the Kanawha River and ultimately flows into the Ohio River.
The New River is the oldest river in our hemisphere, and some geologists believe it is the second oldest river in the world. It is a fertile crescent and a vortex of high crystalline energy. It is, in short, the ideal location for the Valley of Light project.
Independence is located in Grayson County, Virginia, whose motto is: Protector of Nature. Already, Oracle has acquired property along the New River for the construction of a Retreat Center, which will be utilized for classes and outdoor recreation.
